The third wave of NGLC funding, launched in October 2011, and focused on the development of new blended learning models, and featured two separate Request for Proposals: one directed at the postsecondary level and one directed at the secondary level, defined as grades 6-12.
On the secondary level, NGLC intends to fund twenty breakthrough models this year. Five were funded in the first round of funding, with another eight joining their cohort this past summer 2012. At the postsecondary level, NGLC announced four winners eligible for awards of up to $1 million. The initiative funded up to nine online and blended programs.
All applicants were also strongly encouraged to download and read the NGLC Intellectual Property Policy and Conflict of Interest Policy prior to applying.
