Next Gen Virtual Video Tour

We’ve all had the experience of truly purposeful, authentic learning and know how valuable it is. Educators are taking the best of what we know about learning, student support, effective instruction, and interpersonal skill-building to completely reimagine schools so that students experience that kind of purposeful learning all day, every day.
Ever wish you could see firsthand how other schools across the country are approaching next gen learning? Now you can.
Ever wish you could see firsthand how other schools across the country are approaching next gen learning? Now you can—without making a dent in your budget or taking time that you might not have to travel.
Of course, we wish each and every one of you could hop on a plane and travel the country with us, visiting next gen schools, hearing directly from students and learning from teachers. Come to think of it, we wish we could spend ALL our time doing that. Well, here’s the next best thing: a virtual video tour of our breakthrough model grantees! For our first video of our 2014/15 Virtual Video Tour series, let’s all take a virtual trip to Newark, NJ to check out Matchbook Learning’s Merit Prep.
This past December, a small cohort of NGLC grantees visited NGLC grantee, Merit Prep as part of our NY/NJ site visit convening. We’ve partnered with Merit Prep’s teachers and school leaders to create this virtual video tour so that you have a quick snapshot into the recent NGLC site visit--and to offer valuable insights into Merit Prep’s innovative personalized learning model, which uses a GPS tracker to enable students to move through their own learning.
In this virtual video tour, you’ll hear from students who share how the GPS works and from teachers who share how this breakthrough model has changed their role in the classroom and the way students learn. You’ll also hear Matchbook Learning CEO Sajan George explain how Matchbook Learning best uses the most important resource in the classroom: the teacher! Additionally, you will find resources that complement and enrich your virtual video tour experience here.
